I made food for my children since they were 5 months old. I felt so much pride and joy in making every meal for my babies, but I was also exhausted and overwhelmed.
I searched every shelf at each local supermarket (and specialty store too). I tried every brand that was on a shelf (and brands that were exclusively online).
My daughter refused to eat any of these baby food options. I tried them myself and then understood why she wouldn’t eat more than one bite (even if she was hungry).
There were many options, but they all lacked a taste and a texture that was appealing to my baby.
I made recipes that I would eat. I saw so many strange combinations of vegetables and fruits advertised in pouches and containers that probably made sense to a team of nutritionists in a laboratory but lacked a flavor profile and texture that would be appealing to a baby.
Companies seemed to focus more on ingredients and less on flavor and texture.
Before feeding my daughter, I would taste the food first to make sure it wasn’t too hot (or too cold).
Why weren’t parents tasting the food they were feeding their babies? Most of the food I tried didn’t make it to my children’s plates. After all, why should we expect our children to eat something that we wouldn’t?
My daughter inspired me to make the product we were searching for - delicious and nutritious baby food that tasted homemade.
I started making fresh baby food and freezing it into fun shapes for Baby Lova who shared her food with her friends.
Parents would bring over fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmer’s markets and ask me to make a few servings for their young foodies.
I hope your babies enjoy Baby Lova’s frozen baby food as much as my children did.
